The Basics

The Basics pattern book contains instructions for 3 beginner knitting projects and each pattern is written for 3 different yarn weights (DK, Worsted or Bulky). Each pattern also contains links to The Brown Stitch YouTube channel where you can watch video tutorials on each of the beginner techniques used.
These patterns are perfect for the beginner knitter or anyone looking for basic accessory patterns for multiple yarn weights. I also recommend using this collection if you are a knitting instructor and looking for patterns that are basic enough for a true-blue beginner and will help guide them through the process of learning to knit.

Cost for eBook containing all 3 patterns: $5.00

#1: APPLETON:

This garter stitch scarf is a great first project for the beginner knitter. It introduces the 3 basic knitting techniques: casting on, the knit stitch and binding off. Video tutorials were made for this pattern that show how to do these basic techniques.

#2: BETHEL

In this ribbed scarf project you’ll incorporate all of the basic knitting techniques, such as casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and binding off.
